Special Enforcement Teams Target Multiple Illegal Indoor Marijuana Grows and Electrical-Utility Theft

JURUPA VALLEY – When Deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Teams {SET) received complaints from Jurupa Valley city residents regarding possible illegal indoor marijuana cultivations, immediate action took place.
“Members of the Jurupa Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Teams (SET) representing the cities of Jurupa Valley and Eastvale have been aggressively targeting illegal indoor marijuana grows throughout the cities of Eastvale and Jurupa Valley in 2020,” said Sergeant R. Armendariz.
“The SET Deputies investigated and determined that properties located on the 4700 block of
Wanamaker Dr., and on the 4700 block of Magnum Dr. in the city of Jurupa Valley, had been converted to support illegal indoor marijuana cultivation – and there was evidence that marijuana plants were harvested on the properties,” said Sgt. Armendariz.
Marijuana Eradication Search Warrants, served by SET on 08/12/2020 at 9:00 AM, targeted two residences. During the 5-hour operation, SET Members recovered 3,141 marijuana plants.
They also revealed a combined theft of electrical utilities worth $7,555.00.
“Jurupa Valley Code Enforcement and Southern California Edison were summoned to the locations,” said Sgt. Armendariz, “and they conducted their own separate investigations into various building code violations and electrical violations.”
Liang Baolian (47) of Alhambra was arrested for Illegal Marijuana Cultivation, Possession with Intent to Sell, and Theft of Utilities – then booked at Robert Presley Detention Center.
