A storage container was burglarized on the night of July 30th at White Pines Park in which an orange and white STIHL chainsaw was stolen.
The burglar cut the lock of the container, and also left his image on security camera footage.
During the investigation that followed, “many citizens provided information regarding this investigation.”
32-year-old Matthew Dewayne Williams was arrested on the evening of August 6 for the burglary as he rode in a vehicle.
Williams was in possession of meth, heroin and a glass smoking pipe. He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
35-year-old Joshua Michael Grimes was the driver of the car that Williams rode in. Grimes was wanted for a misdemeanor traffic warrant and was arrested.
The driver had a .22 caliber handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition in his car. The serial numbers on the handgun had been rubbed off.
Grimes was arrested for possession of a firearm with altered identification markings, as well as for his outstanding warrant. His bail was set at $100,000.
