On August 14 at 3:00 am a male and female were driving on Lopes Road and waiting at a red light.
Another car, also with a male and female inside, pulled alongside and the male got out, approached the first vehicle and, after an escalating exchange, fired a gun at them.
The shooter fired again as he drove away. The victim drove off the freeway and called 911.
His female passenger had been hot by gunfire and died.
Fairfield residents 58-year-old Louis Marsh and 42-year-old Amber Northstein were identified as the suspects in the shooting.
Twelve hours later an officer spotted the suspect’s white Mitsubishi Eclipse and stopped it, taking the duo into custody. They were booked for murder.
The Fairfiled Police Department said, “The investigation determined the victims and suspects knew each other from a prior altercation, and this was not a random attack. The identity of the deceased victim, a 38 year old female from Fairfield, is being withheld at this time pending the notification of family. While there are no outstanding suspects, the investigation is on-going and no further information will be released at this time.”
