The morning of August 17th , a Lemoore Police Officer pulled over a GMC pick-up truck for an equipment violation on the 1200 block of Sierra Circle. The driver, 26-year old Richard Corbitt, was unlicensed and on Post Community Release Supervision.
On his person, Corbitt was found in possession of illegal narcotics. In the truck, officers found three boxes of ammunition, a loaded firearm, and more narcotics, including methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Officers also found debit cards with names that did not match Corbitt’s and receipts showing those cards had been used to withdraw thousands of dollars. $2,000 in cash was recovered from the fraudulent withdrawals.
Corbitt, from Atascadero and already out on bail out of San Luis Obispo for several felonies, was arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while armed, carrying a firearm concealed in a vehicle, and participating in a criminal street gang. His bail was set at $140,000.
