“On August 19th, during the 3 PM hour, our office received a report of a possible stolen vehicle driving erratically on S. Washington without any license plates.
While Officer’s were checking the area for the possible stolen vehicle, our dispatch center received a phone call from a business in the 300 block of W. Stockton St. of a man who threatened an employee and mentioned having a gun. The vehicle description of the suspects vehicle matched the description of the possible stolen vehicle.
Officers from our department and Deputies from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and contacted 54 year-old Sean Howard, of Long Barn, outside of the business.
Howard refused to follow commands given by officers on scene. Howard resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody without further incident. Luckily no injuries occurred to Law Enforcement Officers or Howard.
A records check of the vehicle confirmed that it was not stolen and no firearms were located on Howard or in his vehicle. Howard was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail where he was booked on $25,000 for resisting arrest and criminal threats.”
