FOLSOM – Just after midnight on August 26 a citizen called the Folsom Police Department to report a DUI driver.
The vehicle was swerving and ran a stop sign.
Responding officers located the vehicle and noticed that, indeed, the driver was swerving.
22-year-old Citrus Heights resident Casey O’Donnell “displayed objective symptoms of someone under the influence of an intoxicating substance.”
O’Donnell failed the ensuing series of field sobriety tests.
The driver was also on searchable probation, and so officers searched his vehicle, where they discovered “multiple small zip lock baggies, containing rock and powdery substances, as well as 10 very small, green, gel squares.”
The substance was MDMA, “a synthetic drug that acts as a stimulant and hallucinogen that can distort a person’s time and perception.”
In addition, officers discovered a concealed handgun.
The FPD concludes, “O’Connell was placed under arrest for suspected driving under the influence, possession of drugs with intent to sell, concealed firearm in a vehicle, and for violating the terms of his probation. O’Connell was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.”
