Here’s an August 26th press release from the Wheatland Police Department about the arrest of two thieves –
“This morning an alert citizen noticed two males tampering with a vehicle in the 100 block of Olive Street and called 911.
They provided a description of the suspects and the vehicle they fled in. Sgt. Ellis located the vehicle fleeing the city limits and conducted a traffic stop.
During the course of the investigation, Sgt. Ellis found a catalytic converter that had just been stolen from the vehicle they were tampering with, along with 6 other catalytic converters inside the suspect’s vehicle.
24-year-old Sacramento resident David Covarubius-Carranza and 37-year-old Sacramento resident Jorge Nuno-Alcala were arrested and booked into Yuba County Jail on charges of grand theft and possession of stolen property.
We want to thank our community for partnering with us to help prevent crime, teamwork at its best!”
