The Tuolumne County Sheriff quickly apprehended a man who robbed the local Kohl’s –
“Yesterday, just after noon, the Sheriff’s Office received a reported robbery at Kohl’s Department Store in Sonora.
Deputies were advised the suspect, later identified as 48-year-old Cosmo Byrd of Sonora, had left the scene in a vehicle.
Utilizing the vehicle description and direction of travel, deputies were able to locate and stop the vehicle. Cosmo was detained without incident.
Deputies learned Cosmo had stolen a wallet, and when confronted by the Kohl’s employee, brandished a knife.
Cosmo was also determined to be on parole. Cosmo was arrested for armed robbery and violation of parole.”
