Two Suspects Arrested within 24 Hours for a Fatal Freeway Shooting

SAN PABLO —Two suspects have been arrested following a high-speed fatal freeway shooting on Interstate 80. They were taken into custody less than 24 hours after a man was shot to death.
The shooting occurred along a stretch of freeway in San Pablo on September 5, shortly after midnight. The victim, 21-year-old Kevin Santisteban of Richmond, was riding as a passenger in a vehicle when he was struck by gunfire. He died shortly afterward.
Homicide investigators following up on leads quickly identified two suspects. The first suspect was located and arrested a few blocks away from his residence.
Jorge Vazquez, 21, was taken into custody at 6:50 p.m. on the 200 block of East Tabor Avenue in Fairfield. Vazquez was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility, where he remains in custody.
Vazquez faces charges for murder. He was also arrested for an unrelated outstanding warrant for probation violation and faces additional charges for accessory to a crime.
His companion, Camille McAlister, 23 of Fairfield, was arrested at 10:50 p.m. McAlister was taken into custody after speaking with authorities inside the San Pablo police station.
McAlister was transported to the West County Detention Facility, where she was booked for accessory to commit homicide. She presently cannot be released on bond, pending further review of the case.
