On March 3, 2020, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to the 500 block of South Conner in Porterville; a fight had left one person with a large cut on the back of their head. Further investigation revealed the fight had started over a woman and concluded when the suspect used a large stick to strike the victim on the head. The victim was released from the hospital after receiving treatment.
On August 26th, detectives identified and located the suspect, 51-year old Maximino Gutierrez of Porterville. He was arrested and booked at the South County Detention Facility for assault with a deadly weapon and, unrelated to this case, two misdemeanor warrants.
