Two men arrested in homicide during attempted vehicle theft

The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men for a homicide in Yuba City –
“On September 10, 2020, at approximately 9:00 pm, The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a physical fight occurring near the 2300 block of Howlett Avenue in Yuba City.
The property owner called and reported two men were attempting to steal his vehicle.
The suspects attempted to flee in a white sedan when the property owner’s 19-year-old son attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle by reaching into the vehicle to disable it.
The son was dragged by the vehicle and was found on the roadway with major injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance and later pronounced deceased.
Through non-stop investigative efforts, the suspects in this case were identified as 18-year old Edgar James McKnight and 19-year old Danny Floyd Ray McKnight.
Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail with charges alleging homicide. The Sheriff’s Office offers its condolences to the victim’s family and prays for healing during this difficult time.”
