“On September 28, 2020, at approximately 12:50 a.m., officers of the Bakersfield Police Department attempted to conduct a vehicle code enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Pacific Street and Haley Street. Officers were conducting proactive patrol in the area in an attempt to dissuade gang violence. The vehicle failed to yield and led officers on a vehicle pursuit.
Eventually the driver fled on foot from the vehicle into an apartment. Officers pursued the driver, Greg Reynoso (26), and he was taken into custody without incident. Reynoso and an additional subject, Alexander Madera (24) were arrested. A loaded short barreled shotgun and methamphetamine were located inside of the apartment. Madera and Reynoso are prohibited from possessing firearms and are documented gang members and were transported and booked into the Kern County Jail.
This investigation is part of the ongoing efforts of the Bakersfield Police Department and law enforcement partners to proactively disrupt and impact the cycle of gang violence affecting the community. These efforts are being combined with community outreach and preventative programs.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.”
