“On September 25th at approximately 11:20 PM, Officer Lupian with the Gang Violence Suppression Unit attempted a traffic stop at E. Alexander and G St. The vehicle immediately sped off and a high-speed pursuit was initiated. The vehicle went to the dead end of E. North Bear Creek Dr and the driver fled on foot. The driver was able to escape the perimeter and avoided capture. Officer Lupian identified the driver as Jonathan Rascon (31) who had several warrants for his arrest. On 9/26/20 at 12:10 PM, Officer Lupian located Rascon inside a residence in the 1100 block of N St. Rascon was booked at Merced County Jail for felony charges of evading a peace officer as well as his warrants.
