“Just prior to 4:00 am on Thursday, October 22nd, our officers were dispatched to what was initially reported as a collision on Bonanza Road.
Prior to our arrival, we received additional 911 calls advising us that a male subject was assaulting the female driver of one of the vehicles. The parties had separated upon our arrival and were identified as 27-year-old Joseph Quinn of Sonora and his adult sister.
It was learned that Quinn and his sister were arguing at a residence on Bonanza Street that turned physical. It is also alleged that Quinn tackled and choked his sister before she got into a vehicle and collided with a parked Jeep.
Following the collision, Quinn reportedly dragged his sister from the vehicle and began assaulting her again, which included punching her and slamming her head against the concrete.
Quinn was arrested for felony battery and booked at the Tuolumne County Jail with bail set at $50,000. The victim was treated at Adventist Health for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”
