Six people now face charges stemming from a shooting that left a woman on life support. The victim is not expected to survive.
However, “based upon changes to California law the District Attorney’s Office will not be able to file murder charges against anyone other than the actual killer in this case. “
22-year-old Trey Rondal Richard has been charged with “personal use of a firearm that caused great bodily injury and death.”
A conviction on this charge has a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
All six defendants have been charged with conspiracy with the intent to transport marijuana out of state, as well as theft by false pretenses.
Also, all six have been charged with shooting at an occupied vehicle.
The Nevada County DA’s office adds, “These charges may be amended as the investigation continues, and facts related to the victim change. As with any criminal case, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
