“On 11/19/2020 at 7:53AM, deputies responded to a residence in Saratoga, California for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in someone’s driveway.
The reporting party said a female, later identified as Kimberly Matthai (39), was wandering around their backyard and property.
As deputies approached Matthai, she ran away, got into her vehicle and rammed a patrol car, which led to a pursuit from Saratoga to Fremont.
Deputies deployed spike strips to immobilize Matthai’s vehicle. After driving on rims, Matthai eventually stopped on the Mission Boulevard off-ramp in Fremont.
The Santa Clara County Mobile Crisis Team was dispatched to assist, but Matthai cooperated and was safely taken into custody prior to their arrival.
Matthai was arrested and booked into the Main Jail in San Jose on several charges including assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony evading and resisting arrest.
Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of this incident. Outstanding work deputies!
