“On December 1st, our south beat deputies were parked near the intersection of Glen Cove and Benicia Road in Vallejo.
They soon heard the old familiar sound of tires screeching and noticed a white sedan doing “donuts” in the intersection.
Just as quickly as it started doing donuts, the car stopped and drove south on Glen Cove Road. Deputies got behind the vehicle and activated their overhead lights to conduct an enforcement stop.
The driver looked directly at the deputies and decided he had other plans. The car quickly accelerated, and a pursuit began.
During the pursuit, the car pulled over and the front passenger, 26-year-old Israel Sloan of Vallejo, ran off. As Sloan ran, an AR-15 styled rifle fell to the ground and he tossed a handgun at a car parked nearby. Shortly thereafter, Sloan was taken into custody without incident.
Because of public safety concerns, the pursuit was canceled, and the driver is still outstanding. Sloan was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of ammo by a prohibited person, and other firearm-related charges.”
