“Just before midnight on December 6th, a Placer County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a car driving on Highway 49 at Cottage Drive, in Auburn.
The deputy contacted the driver who identified himself as 53-year old John Ruiz, of Olivehurst. Ruiz is a registered sex offender.
The deputy found a glass pipe in Ruiz’s pocket, after conducting a search of his person. After speaking further with Ruiz, the deputy believed there were drugs in the vehicle.
A search of Ruiz’s vehicle revealed four large bags of marijuana, methamphetamine, mushrooms, a cube of heroin, ten packaged suboxone strips, two baggies containing a mix of heroin and Fentanyl, a digital scale, several plastic baggies, and a large amount of cash in Ruiz’s wallet.
Ruiz was arrested and charged with possession and transportation of methamphetamine, heroin/mushrooms, and marijuana for sale; possession of a controlled substance for sale by a sex offender; possession of drug paraphernalia; and violation of parole.”
