HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION ON LONG BRANCH DRIVE IN NORTH SACRAMENTO

“At 7:20 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from the 4600 block of Long Branch Drive in the County of Sacramento stating someone had been stabbed.
Additional Callers stated that there was a man on the ground and bleeding.
Deputies responded and located an adult male victim with bleeding wounds to his upper body. Deputies began rendering lifesaving aid. Metro Fire arrived and pronounced the victim deceased a short time later.
While on scene, deputies made contact with an adult male subject who stated he had been involved in the incident. The subject, Jerry Gene Lokey, 58 years old was detained, later arrested and then transported to the Main Jail for booking on the charge of homicide. There are no further outstanding subjects at this time.
Homicide detectives were on scene investigating and interviewing witnesses for several hours last night. No further information is available at this time.
The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin”
