It was the afternoon of December 27th , near the south campus area of CSUC, when a white Mercedes passenger vehicle began following a car carrying three college age females.
The driver of the Mercedes, later identified as 39-year old Jeffrey Donnelly, made lewd gestures at the
women and drove dangerously as he tried several times to force the women to stop their vehicle.
The women called the Chico Police Department to report the situation and began heading toward the police department.
A Chico police officer witnessed Donnelly driving erratically as he followed the victims. Donnelly was able to briefly avoid arrest before ultimately being brought into custody near Forest Avenue and Humboldt Road.
Donnelly was booked for stalking, evading an officer, and possession of an illegal weapon. He remains in custody at the Butte County Jail as of the time of this writing.
