“On January 5, 2021, at 8:59 P.M., Officers from the Redding Police Department responded to Little Country Church located at 873 Canby Road on the report of a single vehicle collision. A witness informed Officers that the solo male occupant had driven over an embankment within the church property grounds, and that the vehicle had come to rest adjacent the children’s playground area.

Upon arrival, Officers observed Michael Ramos, 35 years of Redding, standing next to a silver Toyota SUV, which had, in fact, driven over an embankment before it collided into a chain link fence that partitioned the playground area.

Officer Lovelady conducted a DUI investigation and Ramos’ presumptive blood alcohol level was determined to be nearly 4 times the legal limit to safely operate a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed that this is Ramos’ fourth DUI related arrest since February of 2019. Michael Ramos was booked into the Shasta County Jail for driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving without an interlock device, driving on a suspended license and driving while on DUI probation.

A picture of Michael Ramos is attached to this press release.”
