SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AFTER CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY

“On Friday, January 1, 2021, at approximately 1:23 a.m., Turlock Police Officers responded to the Venice Motel in the 1100 block of North Golden State Boulevard for a report of an aggravated assault.
Officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim in a motel room who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. The responsible suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The scene was turned over to the Investigations Unit where a search warrant was secured and executed. The investigation by Detectives led to the identification of the responsible suspect, Samuel David Martinez, AKA; Samuel Leinweber, 23 years, resident of Turlock.
Samuel was located and arrested January 5, 2021, on a Ramey warrant for three counts of aggravated assault while using a firearm, a felon in possession of a firearm and a felon in possession of ammunition. He was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail without incident.
