People running out of a home on the 1600 block of Ashlan Avenue caught the attention of a Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy patrolling the area the morning of January 12th. They told the deputy they had just gotten home and encountered an unknown male inside their house. Clovis Police Department, Fresno Police, and FCSO deputies were alerted the situation.
A perimeter was quickly set up with eyes in the sky thanks to Air 1, the Fresno Police helicopter. The suspect was observed running from the home and jumping backyard fences. Air 1 gave ground officers the location of the suspect and he was apprehended without incident or injury.
The property taken from the home was scattered throughout multiple backyards and recovered by Clovis police officers and K9 Jax. Included in the stolen property was a handgun and ammunition.
Arrested for this residential burglary was 46-year old Doyle Winklepleck of Clovis. He may also be charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked at the Fresno County Jail for his suspected involved in these crimes.
