“During the afternoon hours on Sunday January 31, 2021, Deputies saw a suspicious vehicle towing a construction style generator.
When Deputies attempted to contact the driver of the vehicle, he took Deputies on a short run before disappearing in a residential neighborhood.
During the course of the investigation, Deputies found the generator was stolen from San Benito County.
After searching the suspects vehicle 9 guns to include 3 sawed-off shot guns and 2.5 ounces of methamphetamine were found. A large number of tools marked with various names on them were also located.
Deputies continued the investigation and were able to identify the drive as Silvino Suarez Benjar (age 29 of Castroville) as the subject who fled.
A few days later Deputies located Silvino during a traffic stop and he was placed under arrest for possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine for sales, and various weapons violations.
