On February 12, 2021, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigations and Operations Units concluded an investigation with the arrest of two adults and the seizure of 100 pounds of marijuana.
Throughout the investigation, Detectives identified Christian Barajas (age 30) from Riverside, CA and Bernabe Brito (age 51) from Bishop, CA to be involved in the sales and trafficking of large quantities of marijuana.
Barajas and Brito were arrested in the 2200 block of Panama Lane in Bakersfield after the large amount of marijuana and a loaded firearm were located inside their vehicle.
Barajas was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility jail for the following charges: possession of marijuana for sales, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, for being under the influence of a controlled substance while being armed with a firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Brito was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility jail for the following charges: possession of marijuana for sales and conspiracy to commit a crime.
