“On February 16th, 2021 at approximately 12:00pm, the West Sacramento Police Department, in conjunction with Yolo County District Attorney’s Investigators, and the Sacramento Police Department, executed an arrest warrant for suspect Derrick Woods at a residence in the city of Sacramento.
Woods was the subject of a regionwide manhunt as a result of the February 15th homicide of a 1-year old child located deceased from traumatic injuries after a welfare check at a motel on the 1000 block of West Capitol Avenue.
We would like to thank members of our community and our law enforcement partners for their assistance in locating and apprehending this suspect.”
