“Early yesterday morning officers conducted a traffic stop on a silver Audi in the area of Orchard Ave and Liberal Ave.
One of the occupants jumped out of the vehicle and fled the area prior to the vehicle yielding to Corning officers.
The suspect that fled the vehicle was located and determined to be on active CDC parole. An area check was conducted in the vicinity of where the suspect fled and an AR style rifle was located in the brush.
The suspect, Noah Ryan Coats, age 39 of Orland admitted the firearm was his and he was subsequently arrested for numerous charges.
Charges included possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of an assault weapon under 30 inches, illegal possession of any assault weapon, and violation of parole.
He was booked into the Tehama County Jail and the vehicle was towed.”
