March 5, 2021 – Ventura County, Ca.
On the evening of February 16, 2021, gunfire erupted in the parking lot of the Oxnard Walmart store. Oxnard Police patrol units responded, and, according to the Oxnard Police Department Watch Commander’s report, “found evidence of a shooting but were unable to locate a suspect or a victim.”
The ensuing investigation by OPD detectives lead to the discovery of a 19-year-old victim who had been “transported by private vehicle” to a local area hospital for treatment of a non-life- threatening gunshot wound. At that time, the OPD’s Violent Crimes Unit went into action.
Two weeks later, detectives identified 24-year-old Oxnard resident Glandros June Jr. as the shooter in the ongoing investigation. It didn’t take the cops long to find June, as he had been arrested on “unrelated charges” on February 28, 2021, and was in custody at Ventura County Jail.
On March 2nd , June was arrested while in custody and was further charged with assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
