In the world of drug dealers, there are small-time street operators, mid-level distributors, and upper-echelon manufacturer-wholesalers. According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Eduardo Malagon, Los Angeles resident Nikhil Eric Joglekar clearly falls into the latter category.
Throughout February 2021, Ventura County Narcotics Street Team detectives, working in concert with the VCSD Pharmaceutical Crimes Unit conducted multiple undercover operations, “made multiple arrests, served search warrants, and seized a large quantity of Alprazolam and other illicit narcotics.”
Throughout these aggressive operations, detectives continued to receive information leading to the identification of Joglekar as the individual “responsible for the sale of large quantities” of a number of illegally manufactured and processed drugs available throughout Ventura County.
Once Joglekar was identified, surveillance of his Los Angeles residence was established. Detectives ultimately obtained search warrants for his West Hollywood residence, his vehicle, and his person. Those warrants were served on March 2 nd when Joglekar was contacted outside his home and detained.
Inside the residence, detectives found “approximately 34,000 Alprazolam pills and approximately 1,800 other prescription pills” determined to have been “possessed for sale.”
Joglekar was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on multiple narcotics for sale charges, with his bail set at $50,000.
