A domestic disturbance occurred at a residence in the 5700 block of Dows Prairie Road on February 27 after 11:00 p.m.
Arriving deputies encountered “a combative male suspect.” 35-year-old Joseph Earl Thurston resisted his eventual arrest.
A 63-year-old female victim was inside the residence with serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
An argument had arisen between Thurston and the female. A male victim tried to intervene and was chased out of the house by Thurston, who then returned and assaulted the female.
Thurston was booked on charges of assault by force likely to produce great bodily injury, criminal threats and resisting arrest.
