“On 03/19/21, at approximately 1938 hours, Galt PD received a tip of a wanted felon at a residence in the 600 block of Pringle Ave.
Upon arrival, GPD officers saw the suspect flee from the interior of the residence into a makeshift crawl space in one of the bedrooms. The suspect refused officers’ commands, and ultimately a K9 was deployed.
While the suspect continued to resist officers’ attempts to detain him, the suspect repeatedly kicked a K9 causing a laceration to the K9’s face.
The male was identified as Paul Brueckner, 40, of Galt. Brueckner was arrested for outstanding felony warrants, a misdemeanor warrant, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, and injury/abuse to a police canine.
Brueckner was transported to a local hospital for treatment then booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail without incident.
We’re happy to report our canine is okay and will make a full recovery.”
