“Mariposa County Public Health was notified today by a resident of Mariposa County of an attempt to obtain personal information using COVID-19 vaccine appointments.
The caller will identify themselves as a Mariposa County Public Health Official needing to gather additional personal information for an upcoming vaccine clinic.
While Public Health does reach out to individuals regarding vaccine clinics, it is only to inform and confirm appointments.
They do not attempt to gather personal information like social security numbers or bank information or request any type of payment. COVID-19 vaccines are FREE.
If you receive a call, there is no need to report this information, simply hang up. Please pass this along to your friends and neighbors.”
