“On March 4th, one of our local community members was finishing some shopping and just gotten into her car when someone suddenly opened her passenger door and attempted to steal her purse.
As the 81-year-old woman tried to save her belongings, the unscrupulous robber escaped with the purse after punching the woman in the face, knocking out a front tooth in the process.
Observant witnesses provided excellent descriptions of the suspect vehicle as well as portions of the license plate, which allowed other officers to quickly zero in on a Toyota Scion seen on our local traffic cameras.
Notifications were sent to our nearby agencies, and an alert Fairfield PD officer spotted the Scion in their city the early the next morning. Detectives stopped the vehicle, detained the two occupants, and also located an unregistered handgun with an extended magazine inside.
After further investigation, Emend Wilson (25, El Sobrante) and Brittany Williams (20, Fairfield) were arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on various charges relating to robbery, conspiracy, felony assault, and carrying a loaded/concealed firearm, to name a few.
We are continually grateful for the assistance we receive from our allied agencies, and for the extremely helpful information we received from original witnesses in the area. With support from community members like you, we can all work together to keep our community safe.”
