On the morning of March 20 a stabbing occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Genoa Court in Los Banos.
The caller related that his adult son had stabbed him and his wife and that the son was still at the home.
Four officers arrived and “forced entry into the residence.” The suspect, 36-year-old Lawrence Smith, was in the hallway, with a large knife in his hand.
Smith would not drop the knife and came towards the officers, at which time they deployed a Taser and took him into custody.
Both victims were taken to a Modesto hoispital for their injuries. The male vicitm was released and the female victim “remains hospitalized in stable condition.”
Smith was chagred with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
