LIVERMORE — Detectives arrested a 22-year-old man who posted photos of himself on social media—allegedly wearing stolen jewelry. He is accused of committing armed robberies at an outlet shopping mall, among other crimes.
A prepared statement released by Livermore police describes Rahsaan R. Robinson of Oakland as a “violent criminal.” Robinson has been arrested eight times this year.
Shoppers at San Francisco Premium Outlets mall located in Livermore were robbed February 2nd. Two suspects were involved, but one suspect sought by police remains at large.
The suspects ripped jewelry from one victim’s neck and stole their shoes. The suspects also reached into another victim’s pockets and stole his wallet—containing credit cards and $2,000 in cash.
Both suspects fled before officers arrived. Livermore detectives investigating the case identified Robinson as one of the suspects. In addition, he was identified as a suspect in another armed robbery of jewelry in San Jose.
A search warrant was served at Robinson’s girlfriend’s residence in Pittsburg. Authorities recovered jewelry stolen from the armed robbery at the outlet mall in Livermore. They also found evidence linking Robinson to yet another armed robbery in Livermore.
Robinson was arrested February 24th for the outlet mall robberies. Prior to that he was arrested February 14th, by the Oakland Housing Authority for firearm possession.
Robinson was subsequently released and arrested for more crimes. He was arrested six times in March for violent offenses, including carjacking, robberies, and weapons-charges.
At this point, Robinson remains in custody, pending a court hearing on June 10th. He faces numerous robbery and weapon-related charges.
