“This morning at approximately 9:19am, West Sacramento Police Officers were dispatch to the 800 block of Sacramento Avenue for a report of a male subject armed with a long gun waking in the area.
A victim reported the incident to a West Sacramento Fire station in the area. Responding officers arrived and confirmed there was a subject armed with a long gun and established a perimeter.
Officers formed a contact team and utilized de-escalation tactics which resulted in the subject being taken into custody without incident.
The investigation confirmed the firearm was a loaded shotgun, the subject had threatened a victim while holding the shotgun and the subject chambered a live round in the presence of a plain clothes detective arriving on scene.
The subject, who was determined to reside in the area of the incident, was arrested and booked at the Yolo County Jail on charges of terrorist threats, brandishing a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place.
We greatly appreciate the help from the involved community members and firefighters in providing information that aided in bringing this incident to a peaceful resolution.
This incident was not related to the shooting which occurred shortly after near the 200 block of 2nd Street.”
