Merced Police Arrest a Gang Member for Illegal Possession of a Firearm

“Merced – On April 2nd at approximately 12:48 AM, Officer Centeno saw a suspicious vehicle with no headlights stopped at the intersection of West 8th Street and N Street in south Merced.
The vehicle drove away, and Officer Centeno stopped the in the 800 block of “M” Street in Merced for driving with no headlights. The vehicle was occupied by Douglas Horton (20) and four juveniles.
Officers conducted a probation search of the vehicle and located a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic firearm underneath a seat.
Horton was arrested for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, gang enhancements, and a felony warrant from another county.
Horton was booked into custody at the Merced County Jail and the juveniles were released to their parents.”
