Man arrested on felony warrants for attempted murder, rape, and other charges out of Yuba County

“Merced – On April 2nd at approximately 4:08 PM, Merced Police Department Officer Paynter was patrolling in the 1300 block of W/N Bear Creek Dr. He observed a subject that he knew from a previous contact.
Officer Paynter knew that this subject had 2 Felony warrants for his arrest. Officer Paynter contacted Zachary Williams (39) and arrested him.
Williams was booked in Merced County jail on a Yuba County warrant for Attempted Murder, Mayhem, Torture, Kidnapping, Rape, Sodomy, and other sex acts.
Williams also had a warrant out of the state Arkansas for violent Felonies.
