At a residence in the 400 block of Alessandro Road on June 5, 2016, Jeremy Cooley and his juvenile son were stabbed multiple times. The elder Cooley died from his injuries.
A loud party had been going on that night and Cooley asked the partygoers to quiet down. Jerry Valdepena and James Chagolla stabbed the man and his son in front of his wife.
Chagolla had already been tried and convicted of the crime. Valdepena’s identity was not known until recently, and on April 9th he was arrested and “taken into custody by the Riverside County Gang Impact Team and later booked into the Riverside County Jail for the crime of murder and the attempt murder of the Juvenile.”
