On the evening of April 29 a stabbing occurred in the 3600 block of North Cedar Avenue. Arriving officers contacted the female victim.
They also contacted 52-year-old Paul Gonzalez, who admitted to stabbing his mother. The cooperative suspect was then detained.
The 73-year-old victim was non-responsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
Gonzalez, upon further questioning at Police Headquarters, was booked for murder.
