MAMMOTH LAKES – The heart of California’s Eastern Sierra Mountains is where Mammoth Lakes is nestled. An unusual occurrence took place on the city’s Main Street.
Officers patrolling the area pulled over to help a citizen push their car. The April 23rd afternoon assistance was filmed, and posted on social media. Three officers pushed from behind.
It looked innocent enough – but there was a discovery inside the vehicle. Mammoth Lakes Police Department made the following announcement, “What started out as an average evening on the job helping a citizen push their car off Main Street, resulted in locating a wanted theft suspect hiding in the back seat… Community Service to Felony Arrest!”
The name of the suspect is being withheld at this time, pending the ongoing investigation. Nevertheless, social media has given lots of Kudos to the officers who risked their lives that day, and every day – and could have encountered a life-threatening result from the felon in the back seat.
