“Today, May 13, 2021, at approximately 11:00 a.m. Fremont Officers responded to an ascertain the problem call at a residence in the area of Grimmer Blvd. and Blacow Rd. (the specific location is being withheld to protect the victim’s identity). When Fremont police patrol officers arrived, they on viewed a woman 67 years of age being sexually assaulted by a man. Officers stopped the violent attack and immediately took the suspect into custody. The female victim was transported to a trauma center for treatment of injuries sustained during the attack.
The suspect, Alexander Lomax a 28-year-old homeless male out of Hayward has been taken into custody on multiple charges of sexual assault, elder abuse, and battery. Additional charges may be considered as the investigation continues. There are no other suspects outstanding.
We are currently investigating a second assault on another 57-year-old female that occurred earlier this morning in the area of Fremont Blvd and Auto Mall Pkwy. Lomax was positively identified as the suspect in this incident as well. The victim stated that she was walking in the area when she was punched by Lomax and pushed to the ground. Lomax then attempted to sexually assault her; however, he was scared away by a witness before officers could arrive. Additional information will be made available as it becomes available and with consideration to the victims.
