On Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at 7:41 pm, Turlock Police Officers made a traffic stop for vehicle code violations in the 400 block of Lander Avenue.
During the traffic stop, officers detained four subjects and established probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. Twenty-eight pounds of pre-packaged marijuana along with approximately $35,000 was discovered. The marijuana had an approximate street value of $28,000.
Ultimately, the four occupants of the vehicle, Jose Penaloza, a 33 year old male from Turlock, Majid Hassan, a 26 year old male from Stone Mountain, Georgia, Riyad Sabir, a 33 year old male from Conyers, Georgia, and Ali Mohamed, a 29 year old male from San Diego, were arrested and cited for narcotics related charges.
The marijuana and money was confiscated.
