“On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 1:40 pm, officers from the Southeast Policing District responded to the 5200 block of E Wildflower Lane regarding a gunshot heard with a possible victim on scene. Officers arrived and located 39-year-old Orlando Gonzalez in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Gonzales was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he received treatment for his injury. Unfortunately, Gonzalez would not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased hours later by medical personnel.
Homicide Investigators responded to the scene where they learned Gonzalez was outside his residence when an occupant of a light-colored vehicle shot towards him, striking him once. Immediately following the shooting, the suspect vehicle fled the scene, travelling westbound Grove Ave towards Peach Ave.
Detectives worked vigorously on this investigation and identified 24-year-old Adrian Alba, a Sureno gang member from the City of Sanger, as the suspect involved in this investigation. Alba is on CDC parole for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).
Alba was currently in custody in the State of Oregon for a parole violation warrant. He was transported to Fresno County on Wednesday March 12, 2021 where Alba was arrested for the murder of Gonzalez. Because this is still an ongoing investigation, Detectives are asking anyone with information to please contact the Fresno Police Department.”
