“On April 28, 2021, Deputies from the Metro Patrol division responded to a shots-fired call in the area of Oregon Street at West Drive. Upon arrival, Deputies located numerous spent casings on the ground, and several vehicles and residences that had been struck by gun fire. Through the investigation, Deputies identified the suspect vehicle of the shooting. Deputies later located the suspect vehicle at a residence in the 3000 block of Fillmore Avenue.
On May 11, 2021, Deputies from the Metro Patrol division, along with detectives from the HIDTA Operations Unit and detectives from the Crimes Against Persons unit, served a search warrant in the 3000 block of Fillmore Avenue.
During the service of the search warrant, Deputies located a “ghost” semi-automatic handgun, along with numerous rounds of ammunition consistent with the ammunition located at the original crime scene. Along with the firearm and ammunition, Deputies also located approximately 20 pounds of methamphetamine, 1/2 pound of heroin, and approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills.
Felix Abel Gutierrez (age 34) of Bakersfield, and Elizabeth Cardenas (age 30) of Bakersfield, were arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for numerous weapons and narcotics charges.”
