It was a busy day for law enforcement working Ventura’s waterfront area on the afternoon of May 11th .
It was almost 5:00 p.m. when members of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Gang Unit, the VCSD Headquarters Investigation Unit, and the Ventura Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit all converged on the Harbor Boulevard Motel 6 pursuant to information obtained relating to the whereabouts of a handful of burglary and narcotics violation suspects.
Those in the cops’ crosshairs included 38-year-old Ventura resident Cy Corkey James Segovia, 36-year-old Santa Paula resident Sarah Beth McComack, 36-year-old Ventura resident Maria Guadalupe Nunez, and Oxnard residents 29-year-old Ricardo Morales and 19-year-old Jeannette Angel Siquiedo.
Once uniformed and plainclothes deputies and officers made their presence known to those inside the motel room registered to McComack and Segovia, contact with the suspects was initiated. Moments later, similar contact was made in a second motel room inhabited by Nunez, Morales, and Siquiedo. Both rooms were summarily searched pursuant to probation search terms enjoyed by Siquiedo, an active probationer.
According to VCSD spokesman Sgt Beau Rodriguez, once inside the motel rooms, detectives discovered “miscellaneous barber equipment, electronic equipment, bank checks, and cash stolen from an ATM machine,” along with methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and stolen ID cards.
All five were transported to Ventura County Jail, where Segovia was booked on a pair of outstanding arrest warrants, McComack was booked for Burglary and conspiracy, Nunez was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of stolen property. For his part, Morales was booked for possession of stolen property and for possession of a controlled substance, while Siquiedo was booked on multiple outstanding arrest warrants and for possession of a controlled substance for sales.
