Merced Police Arrest a Felon for Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

“Merced – On May 15th, Merced Police Department officers arrested a convicted felon for a negligent discharge of a firearm during a domestic disturbance.
At approximately midnight, Merced Police Department officers responded to the 1200 block of Esplanade Drive for an in-progress domestic disturbance. Prior to arrival, the suspect, Ruben Galvan (33), discharged a firearm in front of the residence.
Officers located Galvan hiding in the side yard a few houses away from where the disturbance occurred.
According to witnesses, Galvan pointed a firearm at another person during a dispute in front of a residence. During the dispute, Galvan fired several rounds in the air and left on foot.
Galvan was arrested for discharging a firearm in negligent manner and for felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into custody at the Merced County Jail.”
