“At 9:14 a.m. this morning a victim reported that his truck had been stolen from the area of East and E. Main Streets. The victim’s cell phone had been in the vehicle when it was stolen.
Officers were able to plot the cell phone’s location and locate the vehicle driving westbound on E. Gum Ave at Matmor Rd.
The suspect began to flee from officers when they attempted to stop him. A short pursuit began which traveled on E. Gum Ave., Thomas St., Betty Ave., Molly Ave., Collete St. and Matmor Rd.
On Matmor Rd the driver stopped the vehicle. Ultimately the driver, Jose Jesus Garcia, a 44-year-old Woodland resident exited the driver door and began to run from the police.
Garcia was taken into custody and arrested for vehicle theft, evading the police, and resisting an officer.”
