“Shortly before midnight last night an officer was providing extra patrol in the area of 7-11 on Cottonwood St. The officer made contact with a subject, 48 year old, Yuba City resident, Rusty Johnson who was inside a red Jeep Cherokee.
While speaking with Johnson, he (Johnson) gave answers that were suspicious, which led the officer to run the license plate of the vehicle as Johnson left the area.
A records check confirmed that the vehicle was stolen out of Chico, CA. A vehicle stop was conducted and Johnson was taken into custody for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
A search of Johnson’s property also led to the discovery of a large amount of methamphetamine. Johnson was transported to the Yolo County Jail and booked on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and driving on a suspended license.”
