Pair Arrested for Firearm Related Charges

“On June 2, 2021 at approximately 5:57 p.m., the Los Banos Police Department Gang Enforcement Unit was on patrol in the area of 7th Street and H Street, when they observed a Blue Honda Accord driving without a functional rear driver-side brake light. The officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, 18-year-old Josue Romero and his passenger, 20-year-old Andy Aguilar, both from Los Banos.

During the contact, the officers observed loose marijuana on a plastic tray inside of the vehicle. Both males were removed from the vehicle while the officers conducted a search of the vehicles interior. During the search, officers located two loaded un-serialized handguns in the vehicle.

Aguilar and Romero were placed under arrest and transported to the Los Banos Police Department Jail where they were booked in for firearm related charges, each pending $50,000.00 bail.
